SKYLINE BOYS SELECT BASKETBALL

Who can tryouts? Tryouts are open to boys entering 4th–8th grade in Fall 2026 who live within the Skyline High School attendance boundary and attend a public school within the boundary, or who qualify through Open Enrollment, Choice School, Private School, Home School, or a parent/guardian’s employment with the Issaquah School District.

Eligibility documentation will be collected as part of registration.

How much do tryouts cost? Tryout registration is $20 per player and is managed through TeamSnap.

Does my player need to attend both days? All players must attend at least one tryout session, including returning Skyline Boys Select Basketball players. We strongly encourage attending both days for the most complete and accurate evaluation.

What should my player bring to tryouts? Players should bring their own basketball and water bottle and wear court-appropriate athletic shoes.

What should my player wear? Please do not wear a uniform or any shirt or top with a number.

Can parents watch tryouts? No. Tryouts are closed to parents and spectators.

Who evaluates the players? Players are evaluated by Skyline Boys Select Basketball coaches and board members, along with independent evaluators, through a combination of drills and scrimmages.

What are evaluators looking for? Evaluators consider basketball fundamentals and skills as well as effort, coachability, hustle, attitude, and teamwork.

How will we know if our player made a team? Each player will receive an evaluation number at tryouts. Team selections will be posted on our website by number following the completion of tryouts. Players offered a roster spot will have 24 hours to register and pay before the spot may be offered to another player.
